How it works
Cryo 7 delivers cooling air through a 250 cm hose, with fan output adjustable across nine levels. It runs on 220 to 240V mains power at 1200 VA and carries a USB 2.0 / RS232 interface.
The -30°C cold air works two ways, per Zimmer: it protects the skin from thermal damage, and it blocks nerve receptors to reduce pain sensation in sensitive areas, an effect Zimmer calls cryoanaesthesia. Delivery is continuous, from the first to the last minute of treatment, with no waiting time, through a tube that clips and adapters secure directly to the laser handpiece or a support arm, directed precisely at the treatment area and leaving the physician one hand free.

All three share the same clinical role, as Zimmer publishes it, and Zimmer gives each one its own line. Cryo 7 and Cryo 6 both cool to -30°C at 60 kg, and Cryo 7 adds the 10 inch touch display, up to 100 stored favourite programmes and the optional Pro Therapy Hose. CryoMini is the compact one, 60 x 33 cm and 35.5 kg, cooling to -18°C, which Zimmer calls "the compact system for brief and less painful applications".
Does the cold air affect the laser or IPL device during treatment?
No. Zimmer states the -30°C cold air reduces pain during laser or IPL applications without impairing the laser beam or the intense pulsed light.
