How it works
POD delivers Celluma's three wavelengths, blue at 465 nm, red at 640 nm and near-infrared at 880 nm, from 38 LEDs built into a compact handheld unit. For the red and near-infrared wavelengths, Celluma describes the underlying mechanism the same way across the range: photons at those wavelengths are absorbed by photoacceptors in the mitochondria of the body's cells, and the resulting rise in ATP powers the cell's own repair and regeneration processes.
