How it works
ZTone runs on the technology Zimmer calls HEIT, High Energy Inductive Treatment. Two applicators hold the magnetic coils that produce a strong, rapidly alternating magnetic field, and the induction current flowing from that field triggers the muscle contraction directly. No electrodes are fitted at any point: the applicators are strapped over the muscle being treated and, for hygiene, are kept off the skin. Because the pulse addresses the muscle and not the nerve, the physiological refractory period between two contractions falls away, and Zimmer gives that as the reason a treatment cycle reaches 25,000 to 32,000 contractions in 20 to 25 minutes. The two applicators can be adjusted independently, used on two body regions or two patients at once, or linked to run at the same intensity.

ZTone's own incontinence upgrade is a separate hardware path from Zimmer's Gentle Pro plus ContiCure combination protocol, which is a clinical pairing for erectile dysfunction and pelvic floor training, not a body-toning one.

The incontinence upgrade kit is an applicator dedicated to the pelvic floor area, a software upgrade carrying Zimmer's pelvic floor and incontinence protocols, and the treatment chair, article 3211. Zimmer states that chair connects to the ZTone already installed and needs no separate device, so what a clinic adds is a chair and an applicator in a room that already works, not a second system. The upgrade kit carries none of ContiCure's own clinical documentation; the CIMEG white paper and Zimmer's incontinence protocols belong to ContiCure, whose product page has the full detail.

Does ZTone treat incontinence on its own?
No. ZTone is a body-toning device and is never sold as a standalone incontinence system. A clinic that wants both adds the incontinence upgrade kit to the ZTone it already runs: the pelvic floor applicator, Zimmer's pelvic floor and incontinence protocols, and the chair, article 3211. The clinical documentation, the CIMEG white paper and Zimmer's published incontinence wording, belongs to ContiCure and does not transfer to the upgrade.
Is ZTone made by Zimmer?
It is sold within the Zimmer portfolio, but the manufacturer is Remed Co., Ltd of South Korea, under the original trade name Perfect. It is not German-made.

Who should not receive ZTone treatment?
Zimmer names a short list of contraindications: treatment over the heart, pregnancy, fever, wounds in the treatment area, medical implants, and active epilepsy.
How many sessions make up a course, and how often?
Zimmer recommends 6 sessions per course, up to twice a week. More frequent sessions are not recommended, because of the risk of rhabdomyolysis.
